2018 - CALEB YULE

Caleb Yule was the inaugural winner of the David Thomas Emerging Filmmaker Prize, first awarded in 2018, for his documentary Believe That. The film follows Team Santos, three players from Brighton Table Tennis Club, as they prepare to represent their country at the European Down’s Syndrome Championships. Believe That is an uplifting and educational portrait of one of the UK’s most under represented demographics, challenging the everyday perceptions of people with Down’s Syndrome.

After winning the Emerging Filmmaker Prize, the film went on to premiere at Duke of York’s, Brighton, screening to three sold-out audiences.
